I shift the plate to one hand, rapping quickly on my door.
knock knock
I wait outside the door.
There is no response.
I hold the plate with two hands again.
"Mister Monster?" I called.
The monster does not answer.
I knock two more times.
knock knock
There is no noise.
I stare at the wood that separates me and him.
"I'm coming in."
I shift the plate to one hand again. Using my free hand, I turn the handle and step in, peering curiously inside.
I see the same mountain of blanket that hides the monster. His low growling reaches my ears. I am not afraid as I was before, since I am getting used to him. Even though it's only been a few days, he is slowly becoming less of a stranger to me.
"I brought bacon. Do you like bacon?" I asked, bringing the plate over to the bed.
About ten feet from the bed, like always, he peers out from under the covers and roars. Slightly stunned, I paused.
His yellow eyes lock with my brown ones.
